The caped, masked, swordsman of Spanish colonial era California wages war on villains, and corrupt officials on behalf of the common people. An influence on characters such as The Lone Ranger, The Shadow, The Phantom (Ghost who walks), and Batman, Zorro continues the fight in books, films, TV, comic books, and computer and video games.
