WYATT EARP

1848-1929. Lawman, gambler, gold miner, Wyatt Earp might have been a footnote in history if he and his brothers and their friend Doc Holliday hadn't come up against superior numbers for control of Tombstone, Arizona in 1881. The famous Gunfight near the O. K. Corral was only the beginning of the violence to come. His brother Virgil was ambushed and shot, and assassins killed his brother Morgan. Wyatt and Doc Holiday went on a rampage of violence to avenge these deeds. By 1882, Wyatt was a lawman and a wanted murderer at the same time. He and Doc Holiday fled to Colorado, where the governor, aware of the crooked political situation in Tombstone, at that time, refused to have Wyatt and Doc extradited. Wyatt Earp has become two people: the lawman of legendary fame, and the man who, at times, straddled the line between criminal and law abiding citizen.
