HAMMER FILMS

Founded in 1934, this British film company produced some of the best science fiction, fantasy, and Gothic horror movies during the late 1950s to the early 1970s. Hammer's great success was due, in part, to two actors appearing in many of its best films: Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Director Martin Scorsese is a big Hammer fan, and said, "If we saw the logo of Hammer films we knew it would be a very special picture."
