Under his editorship, Famous Monsters of Filmland inspired other periodicals, such as, Mad Monsters, Horror Monsters, Castle of Frankenstein, Cinefantastique, Fangoria, Fantastic Monsters of the Films, Cult Movies, Midnight Marquee, Little Shoppe of Horrors, and Psychotronic Video to name only several. Hundreds of Famous Monsters-influenced fanzines appeared over the decades, some that have continued publishing either in magazine or e-zine form. Uncle Forry lived in the new Acker-mini-mansion in Hollywood, still loving the visits of fans, until his death in 2008.
