The Man of Steel's first appearance in June of 1938.

An extraterrestrial baby born on the planet Krypton faces certain death, as do all of its inhabitants, due to volatile geologic conditions. Little Kal-El's parents, Jor-El and Lara, place the baby into a spaceship before the planet's destruction and send him into outer space. Landing on the planet Earth, the child is found and adopted by a Kansas couple who raises Kal-El as Clark Kent. Superman's God-Like powers has various explanations over the years: the evolution of his Kryptonian origins, Krypton's heavier gravity, and exposure to the light of Earth's yellow sun, instead of his home planet's red one.
