The Man of Bronze. This incredible character and his five friends pioneered a trail of science fiction, mystery, and adventure that influenced characters from Indiana Jones and James Bond, to Superman. In 181 Pulp Magazine issues (1933-1949), Doc and the amazing five have some of the most bizarre, action packed adventures in literature. Created by Street and Smith's Henry W. Ralston and John L. Nanovic, the character was crafted by writer Lester Dent, writing under the name Kenneth Robeson. As the legend goes, Clark Savage Sr assembles a team of scientists to train his newborn son, mind and body, to super abilities. The end product is Clark Savage Jr, Doc, a man of inhuman self discipline, Super-Human strength and endurance, mastery of martial arts, a photographic memory, and vast knowledge of science.
