Created by Irish author Bram Stoker in 1897, Count Dracula, a centuries-old vampire, claims to be descended from Attila the Hun. Before becoming a vampire he studies magic and alchemy at an academy in the Carpathian Mountains, and then later becomes a military leader. Known for his ruthlessness, bravery, and cunning, Dracula's campaign against the Turks wins him accolades for centuries after. Dracula's skill in the magical arts enables him to become a vampire after he dies, and he lives for centuries in a castle in the Carpathian Mountains.
