DR. FU MANCHU

1912. Originally a super-villain in a series of novels by Britisher Sax Rohmer, Fu Manchu has also appeared in movies, TV, radio, comic-books and comic-strips. In the early book titles, Fu Manchu is an agent of the Si-Fan, a secret society of assassins competing against Western imperialists and funded by the drug trade and slavery. Fu Manchu is an early example of a Mad Scientist, and also super-criminals seen later in James Bond novels and films.
