CLINT EASTWOOD

1930. Renowned film actor, director, producer, and music composer Clint Eastwood worked his way up from appearances in movies such as Revenge of the Creature, and Francis in the Navy, to becoming a recipient of five Academy Awards. After his television stint in the western series Rawhide, Clint starred as the Man With No Name for Italian director Sergio Leone in three iconoclastic westerns, including, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. In 1971, Clint starred in the phenomenally successful Dirty Harry, directed by Don Siegel, playing police inspector Harry Callahan; Clint reprised this role in four sequels. Clint took control of his career, directing and producing many of his films; for his 1992 western Unforgiven, he won two Academy Awards for producer and director. Clint received his third 'Oscar' in 1995, the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. His 2004 film Million Dollar Baby garnered him two more Academy Awards for producer and director. Clint's dedication to environmental issues includes his 2001 appointment to the California State Park and Recreation Commission.
